The Norwegian Explorers 2021 Annual Meeting and Dinner

Our annual English Buffet dinner will once again be held in person at the Minneapolis Golf Club.

We'll celebrate the season and hold a brief business meeting along with enjoying the traditional English dinner. The evening will feature Canonical Toasts, a keynote speaker, presentation of this year's Sigerson Awards, poems, limericks, carols, etc. Attendees will receive a limited edition copy of the much-anticipated and coveted Norwegian Explorers Christmas Annual. (We will not be mailing them to all members as we did last year, when our meeting was held virtually.)

Geoffrey Curley, Principal of Geoffrey M. Curley + Associates and one of the creative forces behind the International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes, will be our keynote speaker. Geoffrey will discuss the efforts to bring the project to life and the many Minnesota connections within the Exhibit including many items from the University of Minnesota Libraries Special Collections. He'll also share what we can expect when the Exhibit comes to Minnesota in October 2022. Since its Oregon launch in 2013 it has already toured extensively to Ohio, Missouri, Texas (Dallas), California, Colorado, Canada, Washington, Australia, Texas (Houston), New Jersey, and South Carolina. It is particularly exciting to know it will be here in Minnesota next year.

IMPORTANT HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS: Given the average age of our group and the fact that some are living with increased health risks, only those individuals who have been vaccinated should attend. The Minneapolis Golf Club is not imposing any vaccination or mask requirements, though the staff and employees will be masked. Since we will be eating and drinking nearly the entire time, it will be impractical for us to wear masks, and no mask requirement will be imposed on attendees.
