The Norwegian Explorers Annual Meeting and Dinner

Our annual English Buffet dinner will once again be held at the Minneapolis Golf Club.

We'll celebrate the season and hold a brief business meeting along with enjoying the traditional English dinner. The evening will feature Canonical Toasts, a keynote speaker, presentation of this year's Sigerson Awards, poems, limericks, carols, etc. Attendees will receive a limited edition copy of the much-anticipated and coveted Norwegian Explorers Christmas Annual.

Explorer Erica Fair will be our keynote speaker, on the topic of "Bad Medicine: Dangerous Doctors and Toxic Treatments in Watson's World." She will review the Victorian medical landscape with a special focus on popular medications and disease theories that were later found to be ineffective or even dangerous. For instance, did you know that cocaine was often prescribed for morphine addiction, and that radium was a celebrity-endorsed health tonic for over a decade? Find out what other anomalies would have been part of Watson's routine practice.

Join us for the meeting and dinner at the Minneapolis Golf Club, 2001 Flag Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55426 (952) 544-4471. The cost is $55 per person.

To pay by check, please make your check payable to "The Norwegian Explorers" and return it with your reservation form no later than November 30 to the address on the form. Or, pay using PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay (depending on your device) or credit/debit card by selecting the number reserved and clicking one of the buttons below.
